Dry needling is based on anatomical and neurophysiological principles that are scientifically superior to the ones of acupuncture treatments. Dry needling is a relatively new technique that is associated with intramuscular stimulation or muscle pain relief, in other words. With dry needling, practitioners insert a "dry" needle (fluidless) into a patient's muscle, the "trigger point". A "trigger point" can be described as a button in the muscle that usually is the cause of a pain. Speaking of the joint pain, "trigger points" are often seen as the sources of arthritis, joint injuries, tendon or mucous membrane inflammation. When a muscle is treated with dry needling, it becomes quicker and stronger than before.
